Course design & teaching

In Fall 2022, I independently taught Waterloo’s fourth-year course, Introduction to Implementation of Quantum Information Processing. I redesigned the syllabus, teaching methods and assessments, delivered the lectures, and coordinated the teaching assistants.

The course received an average evaluation of 4.8/5, with a 97% response rate.

Mentoring

I have mentored graduate researchers at Harvard, the University of Maryland, ETH Zürich and the University of Waterloo, and undergraduates at Princeton and Waterloo. I also helped six students from my Waterloo course secure IQC internships through guidance on approaching faculty and reference letters.

Educational development

At Waterloo’s Centre for Teaching Excellence, I worked as a Graduate Educational Developer and TA Workshop Facilitator. My work included designing and facilitating workshops, teaching observations, microteaching sessions, and personalised feedback for graduate instructors. I also completed Waterloo’s Certificate in University Teaching. My physics-education research examines how instructors identify and address misconceptions, including in quantum physics.
